Biography
I have been interested in photography since an early age, but did not have much time to work on it during my career with various companies that made tools for drug discovery and scientific research such as DNA sequencers and acoustic dispensing equipment. Four years ago I stopped full time work and now serve on some boards and work part time for a drug discovery company.
My main interest is photographing things that are changing rapidly or will never look the same again. I am currently working on a portfolio of icebergs, which change in the short term--often they will change drastically over night--flip over or disappear. I am also fascinated with them as their changes are indicators of global warming and because they are significant to the habitat of endangered animals such as polar bears and penguins. I sometimes work in color, but feel that black and white is often more powerful in that it often distills the image to its essence. This is especially true of icebergs because the viewer is often distracted by the amazing blue color (and it is amazing!!) and, I think, misses the shape, form and nuances of the image.

My favorite equipment
Canon cameras and lenses. Epson printer. Sony cameras and Zeiss lenses.

Portfolio selection
I'm working on it.
