Redwood City photographer Charles Anselmo initially traveled to Cuba in 2000 to capture the extraordinary forms and layered patinas of the capital’s architecture. Returning more than fifty times over the past fourteen years, he has cultivated friendships, strengthened collaborations with Cuban artists and led small groups of Americans in week-long photography workshops to explore Havana's incredibly vibrant urban culture.

Avenue 25 Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition of selected images by participants in the 2015 Cuba groups. Havana's resilient people, diverse city districts  and stunning multiplicity of architectural forms are depicted with resonant beauty and sensibility across a myriad variety of visual themes.

The contributing photographers include John Adler, Joseph Amanzio, Susan Bethanis, Susan Burton, Dan Charnitsky, David Clary, Jim Colton, Denise Fuson, Lisa Krieger, Tom Green, Marjorie Green, Ilene Hertz, Daniel Miller, Renita Sinn, Cheryl Strong, Kitty Thoresen, Lanny Udell and Albert Yan.

The opening reception will take place at Avenue 25 Gallery on Saturday, July 25th, from noon to 3pm. Address: 32 West 25th Avenue, 2nd Floor, San Mateo CA 94403
