ABOUT THE JURORSÂ
Robert Kato will judge the non-Cuba entries. Charles Anselmo will judge the Cuba entries
ROBERT KATO
Robert Kato’s unique and inspiring photography is about finding beauty in the most unlikely places. He formally trained at Art Center College of Design, has images acquired by Santa Barbara Museum of Art and received the first award in the 2011 Juried Exhibition at Carmel Center for Photographic Art. Robert is working with alternative digital printmaking (digital film transfers), as well as making his own gampi and kozo papers to print on. He is teaching at RAYKO San Francisco and has taught at Stanford Continuing Studies, Cabrillo Arts and the Carmel Center for Photography. His work is represented by Modernbook Gallery San Francisco, CA.
CHARLES ANSELMO
While focusing on portfolios concerned with the many dissonances of the forgotten urban landscape, Charles Anselmo exhibits internationally, curates United States exhibits of work by famous Cuban photographers, operates a large format digital printing studio and an arts consultation service for exhibiting photographers, and will soon collaborate in the opening of a digital printing studio in Cuba. He conducts frequent photography workshops to Cuba and is Visiting Lecturer at the Havana School of Creative Photography. He was honored in 2012 to be invited for a solo exhibit of his photographs at Havana's Fototeca Nacional de Cuba. His work is represented by PHOTO Fine Art Photography in Oakland, CA.
